Excitement is building as the UMHS community prepares for Match Day. While matching into a residency program marks the end of med school, it’s also the beginning of a new chapter in the journey to practicing medicine. UMHS is hosting a discussion with two of our UMHS Alumni, Dr. Kerthy Sugunathevan (Resident, General Surgery, Detroit Medical Center Sinai-Grace) and Dr. Zach Vandeveer (PGY1 IR Resident, Interventional Radiology, Spectrum Health Grand Rapids) to share “Residency Match Insights: What to Expect During Your First Year.” Please join us as we talk about what it’s really like as a first-year resident, what they’ve learned, and what they wish they knew. Dr. Sugunatheven and Dr. Vandeveer will also answer questions from the audience, and share tips for avoiding burnout and getting the most out of your residency.
